Juno is a member of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) and the National Mediators standard board. This means that I am adhering to their Code of Ethics and Practice.
Sessions at Juno are bound by strict confidentiality rules – nothing said or discussed can be revealed to third parties, unless you give written consent that it is ok to do so.
The only exceptions to confidentiality are:
- If you are suicidal or there are threats of harm to others
- If children are being endangered through neglect and/or violence
- If I am subpoenaed by a court of law
Counselling and Personal Development is not so much about giving advice but working with you to overcome the hurdles you’re facing. The first session is usually about getting to know each other. You will have to complete and sign an intake form which includes your address and restates above confidentiality clause. I will then closely listen to your story, your concerns and what you would like to see changed, We will establish a goal together and you might have to do some ‘homework’ in between sessions. Subsequent sessions will continue from there. You have the right to change and/or cancel your sessions up to 24 hrs free of charge. Within 24 hrs, a cancellation fee applies.
To protect the confidentiality of all my clients, bookings are by appointment only – no walk-ins.
Should you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact me. I am happy to answer all your questions. A copy of the Code of Ethics and Practice can be mailed to you upon request.
